Paving Operator
We currently have multiple Paving Operator positions available. They include:
Paving Screed Operator:
This position is responsible for operating the screed from a standing position on a platform attached to the paving machine that lays asphalt material to project specifications such as depth, width, and grade. When not operating the screed, performs laborer duties. Qualified candidates will be knowledgeable in paving operations and have at least two years of experience operating a screed.
Paving Roller Operator:
This position is responsible for compacting surface asphalt material to desired finish using specialized, high impact equipment such as a vibrator roller, one ton finish roller, hand roller, tamper, etc. Frequently performs hand tamping jobs as appropriate on areas where the roller could not reach. Qualified candidates will be knowledgeable in paving operations, have two years of operating a roller and must be able to see and correct defects in surfaces being rolled, such as depressions, swales, seams, edges, etc.
Paver Operator:
This position is responsible for controlling the material that is taken into the paver, the depths of the material that is distributed through the machine, and removes asphalt material that may be sticking to conveyors, augers and other parts of paver. Qualified candidates must have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving. Requires at least three years of experience operating a paving machine.
